I hope everyone had a nice run of hoidays. We’re back with Tuesday take-aways this week, and we’ll begin with a couple of classic menu items. Before we get to the menu, though, an announcement.
There’s a new collection point. You can now collect your Tuesday take-aways at Roots in Illovo. It’s a lovely new organic shop on Corlett Drive, just off Oxford Road. I recommend checking out the shop in general- and especially their organic fruit & vegetable delivery scheme (if you live in that area).
Main course: Pizza – a buckwheat and sunflower seed crust topped with basil-spinach pesto, fresh tomato sauce and cashew cheese. Approximately 16cm in diameter. R60
Dessert: Chocolate mousse tartlet- a rich and creamy avocado-based cacao filling in an almond-date crust. R15
BONUS: In addition to the regular menu, I have a little extra stock available for sale. If you’re interested in any of these, just let me know. They’re available on a first come first served basis.
-Herbed cultured cashew cheese- R20 for a 120g tub
-Crystal salad rolls-rice noodles, fresh vegetables and herbs in a rice paper wrap, with a choice of peanut-soy sauce or macadamia-tamari sauce (not raw but vegan and really delicious) R20 for 2 pieces
-Carrot muffins- gluten free, vegan and agave sweetened little gems. R10 per muffin
