Before I get to the menu, I’d like to mention that Fresh Earth in Emmarentia is now a collection point for take-aways. That brings us to 4 places to pick up your meal: Fruits & Roots in Bryanston; Greenlands in Parkhurst, Jozi Uncooked in Observatory and Fresh Earth, Emmarentia. Now there’s no excuse not to have a healthy meal on Tuesdays.
This week’s menu is a delicious raw vegan version of a dish that I don’t think I have ever tasted, in its conventional form. So while I can’t speak to authenticity, I can say that it’s incredibly tasty and satisfying. This is what they look like (though this time they’ll be on a bed of greens):
Main course: Sea cakes- crab cakes without the crab… these delicious patties are made of nuts, fresh herbs, veggies and sea vegetables, dehydrated to perfection and served on a bed of greens with macadamia-based tartar sauce. R60
Dessert: Fig bites- delicious morsels of almond, date, coconut and fig. R20 for 3 pieces.
